GeoPic - when the where counts too
Never lose your photos' location information again - even when printing them!
GeoPic saves the location where a picture was taken as a small, unobtrusive QR code directly on the photo - that way this information will never be lost again, whether you upload the picture to Facebook or decide to print them out!
- Easily move and resize the QR code
- Generated QR codes can be read by any QR reader on any mobile platform
- Option to save just the QR code - so you can print it on the back of a photo or put it next to it in a photo album
- Easily share the created picture on Facebook, Twitter, Weibo, via email, message, or any other way
What are QR codes and how does GeoPic work?
QR codes (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) are a type of barcode that can be used to save text in a format that is very easy for machines to read. GeoPic takes the location information that modern cameras (and phones!) save directly into the picture files and generates a QR code from it that includes the longitude and latitude of the location (such as "43.642566, -79.387057"). This location is very precise and standardized so that every QR reader program will be able to understand it, and you can use any type of maps or GPS application to guide you to the exact location where the picture was taken!
